// Home page slides: how to add, delete and reorder images

.

Prepare your image for the slider.

To make sure the image you are about to load looks nice and functions correctly you need to prepare your image for this slide.

image size: 1400 × 700 saved as a JPG

2d art image – If it’s a piece of art you will need to place the art over a white background with a drop shadow  to be in suit with the rest of the slides. You will need photoshop to do that and some basic knowledge. If you don’t have that. I will gladly make the images for you. OR create further instructions on how to do that.

Use this background in your layered photoshop file to have a consistent background in all your image. To download this image simply right click and select SAVE IMAGE AS

3d image – you simply need to crop your image to a proposition in the neighborhood of  1400 × 700. The image here is 1000 x 541. It works although, if we were able to get closer to the 1400 x 700 it would be better resolution.

To add a new slide

To add a new slide to the home page slider take the following steps.

  1. Create a new post.
  2. Title the post something that makes sense for the image you are about to load.
  3. Add a “featured image” and load the image you want to add to the slider.
  4. Set format to IMAGE
  5. Set category to “home slide” ONLY
  6. Publish and you are done.

Simply click on QUICK EDIT

Change status to DRAFT > click update

This will hide this slide allowing you to make it visible any time in the future.

to delete

Simply click on TRASH. Only select this option if you are absolutely sure you will never need this slide again.

Ordering the slides

The slide oder is dictated by the date and time of each slide. The older slides are last, newest sides are first. My advice is to use the date rather than the time of day. this makes it more easy to order.
